Previously, Ore was one of the most difficult basic resources to farm in all of Palworld. You could construct a building for your base to constantly have Pals mining Stone or chopping Wood. Ore could only be directly mined from deposits that organically spawn, but that's not the case any longer. Thanks to the v0.2.0.6 Patch in April 2024, the Ore Mining Site was added to Palworld, offering a way to consistently mine for Ore in your home base.

How to Unlock and Build an Ore Mining Site

The crafting recipe for the Ore Mining Site can be unlocked at Player Level 15 in the Technology menu, all the way to the right in the purple Ancient Technology column. It costs two Ancient Technology Points to unlock.

Ore Mining Site Recipe:

• 50 Stones
• 25 Ingots
• 20 Paldium Fragments

This is a very reasonable price for such a valuable building. You'll want to assign your best Mining Pals to it. Depending on what you have. Some of the best mid-game Mining Pals include Penking, Dumud, Tombat, and Mammorest since each has Level 2 in Mining. Astegon and Blazamut both have Level 4, but they're very far into the endgame. As soon as you can catch a Digtoise, however, make that your priority for Mining. Its only work affinity is Level 3 in Mining, so once assigned, it won't ever wander off to do something else. If you can breed an early on, that Pal is also a very strong miner, but they're also a top-tier Level 4 Handiwork Pal and has Level 2 Transporting.

How to Automate Ore with the Traditional Method

Find an Ore Mining Spot

Before venturing out in search of an Ore Spot, make sure you have 8x Wood, 3x Stone, and 1x Paldium Fragment. You need these to make sure that you have enough materials to build a Pal Box near the ore spots!

Ore in Palworld can be found in a lot of places. However, it's best if you can find a place where there are multiple ores that your Pals can mine from. We found that this location hosts quite a bit of Ores which means that there's going to be a pretty consistent yield in this area.

Build a Base Specifically For Mining Ores

Once you've found a location you deem suitable for your Ore base, you're going to want to build a base that encompasses most if not all of the Ore spots you've found. Build a Pal Box in the suitable area and make sure to have these as well:

• Stray Beds for each of your Pals
• Food Bin
• Hot Spring
• Wooden Chest
• Primitive Furnace
• Berry Farm (optional)

After that, make sure to assign Pals in your base that have the mining work suitability Level 2 and other pals that can transport materials to your chest. Your Pals being Level 2 in mining work suitability is very important as level 1 suitability will only know how to mine stones and Level 2 will automatically mine ores around the base.

Once you've done this, there should be a consistent yield of Ores filling the chest beside your Pal Box. The chest is strategically placed beside the Pal Box so that you can instantly teleport to your main base even if you're carrying more than your weight could. Just make sure there's also another chest waiting for you in your main base so you can load it off there.

Additionally, make sure to always look at the food bin and make sure your Pal workers have something to eat if you don't plan on putting a berry farm in it.
