Hi All
I’ve been using millet and the no soak no simmer tek and think I have to move on to something new.

Looking for suggestions for grains that do well with an overnight soak- no simmering (I think I should avoid the simmer part for a few reasons)

I’m looking for something that could be readily available someplace like Tractor Supply, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc- I’m not really ion a rural area..

Thanks so much for any suggestions!!!

Use whatever is easiest to obtain at the cheapest price…it really doesn’t matter…some people just use whole brown rice with a simple simmer before pc’ing.

There’s a number of things to use like wheat, barley, whole oats, rye berries, pop corn. I’ve definitely missed some…

There’s wild bird seed but I don’t like it cause it has a mixture of things where say wheat, barley etc is more consistent with the 24hr soak.

Thank you Shroomerquest!

I’m looking for a grain that does well with soaking- not simmering.
And one that’s readily available at a big name store, since I’m limited to those options

I'd just buy a 25kg bulk bag of triple cleaned oats off Amazon or your nearest feed lot.
Just make sure you prep properly. Rinse, boil for 30 mins, dry for 12-24hrs, jar/bag up then pc at 15psi for 2 hours (minimum) with a 10-15 minute vent time.
Put effort into your grain prep and clean spawn, everything else will follow.

Seems unnecessary and expensive to get triple cleaned oats to go through all that prep also

I’m using grains for animal feed no problems…a simple rinse, 24hr soak, pc for 90-120. Grain soak water sometimes used for agar win win

Sbj wbs tek

If boiling water is out of the question, this tek should get you where you need to be. Wbs is readily available at all supermarkets with a gardening section.

All them I mentioned apart from rice. Just simmer rice til partially cooked before you pc, drain and leave outside to dry off of course
